“A tragic incident unfolded at Maplewood Park in Rochester resulting in the death of 20-year-old Tyasia Manning due to a shooting.
During a mass shooting at Maplewood Park on Sunday, one individual lost their life, while six others sustained injuries.
At approximately 6:20 p.m., Rochester police were alerted to a sizeable gathering and gunshots being fired.
Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered multiple individuals with gunshot wounds and encountered a large crowd dispersing from the area.
Among the injured, one person is in critical condition, and five others have been hospitalized with less severe injuries.
Throughout the night, some victims were driven to the hospital in private vehicles, while others were transported by ambulances.
Various law enforcement agencies, including Irondequoit Police, Monroe County Sheriffs, Rochester Police, and New York State Police, responded to the incident at Maplewood Park.
The Rochester Police Department (RPD) confirmed that a party was taking place in the vicinity at the time of the shooting.
RPD has requested individuals with video recordings of the incident to share them directly with the authorities through Major Crimes or contact Crime Stoppers instead of sharing them on social media.

Captain Greg Bello mentioned, “We’re currently investigating the number of individuals involved in the shooting and are actively interviewing witnesses.” As of now, the police do not have any suspects in custody.”
