70-Year-Old Woman Shoots Teen Over Parking Spot, Kills Officer in Shootout
Bloomfield Hills, Michigan – A routine trip to a local Target store turned into a tragic and violent encounter on Tuesday afternoon, leaving the community in shock.

The incident involved Pauline Brown, a 70-year-old woman with multiple sclerosis, and 19-year-old Chad Bosnik, accompanied by his 8-year-old brother, Samson. The altercation began over a parking dispute and escalated into a deadly confrontation involving firearms.

The events unfolded when Pauline Brown arrived at the Target store, intending to park in a designated disabled parking spot. As she attempted to pull into the space, Chad Bosnik swiftly parked his vehicle in the same spot, despite not having a handicap permit. This action infuriated Brown, who was legally entitled to the space due to her medical condition. Bosnik and his younger brother, unaware of the brewing tension, proceeded into the store to do their shopping.

After waiting for approximately two hours, Brown confronted Bosnik as he and his brother returned to their car. Witnesses reported that Brown angrily asked Bosnik if he was handicapped, to which he replied no. In a shocking turn of events, Brown pulled out a .22-caliber revolver and shot Bosnik twice in the knees. Panicked, Samson fled back into the store, seeking help.

The situation further escalated when Brown attempted to leave the scene in her 1996 minivan. Bloomfield Hills police officers, alerted to the incident, arrived as Brown was attempting to drive away. Upon seeing the police, Brown retrieved an AR-15 assault rifle from her vehicle and began firing at the officers. In the ensuing gunfire, one officer was wounded in the shoulder, and another tragically lost his life. Brown eventually surrendered after she ran out of ammunition.

Police officers found Brown wearing a bulletproof vest, raising further concerns about the premeditated nature of her actions. During her arrest, Brown expressed her frustration with racial tensions and mentioned a recent news story involving Sonya Massey, which she claimed had influenced her actions.

Brown’s remarks highlighted her deep-seated grievances, stating, “I guess I was just in a bad mood. And when I saw the officers pull up, I figured they might try to murder me as they murdered her, and I wasn’t about to let that happen. I’m tired of the police. I’ve been here 70 years and I’m TIRED. That’s all I have to say.”

Further investigations revealed that Brown had a background in the military, with special operations experience as a former Marine. This aspect of her history has added another layer to the ongoing investigation, as authorities seek to understand the full scope of her actions and motivations.

The Bloomfield Hills community is grappling with the aftermath of this tragic event. Chad Bosnik is currently recovering in the hospital from his injuries, while the family of the slain officer mourns their loss. The incident has sparked discussions about the accessibility of firearms, the impact of mental health issues, and the tensions within the community.

Brown is now in custody without bond, facing multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder, and assault with a deadly weapon. The legal proceedings are expected to unfold in the coming weeks, with significant public interest and scrutiny.

This incident underscores the importance of addressing underlying social and mental health issues and highlights the need for community support and dialogue to prevent such tragedies in the future. As the community comes to terms with the violence, there is a collective call for understanding and healing.
