Madysin Hilker Obituary, Victim identified in 3-car crash that left two dead in New Haven
An investigation is ongoing in New Haven following a fatal crash that claimed the lives of two individuals.
Authorities shut down a section of Middletown Avenue, specifically between Foxon Boulevard and Barnes Avenue, for over five hours as they conducted their inquiries.
The collision involved a silver Hyundai, a silver Infiniti, and a grey Ford and took place at 1:52 a.m.
The Hyundai and Infiniti sustained significant front-end damage, whereas the Ford incurred minor damage to its front end.
Witness Michael Parise of New Haven described the aftermath as shocking, stating, “The cars were mangled. It was something that I never experienced before. It was unbelievable, something like in the movies. It was terrible.”
Tragically, a passenger in the Hyundai was declared deceased at the scene.
Multiple occupants from the involved vehicles were taken by American Medical Response (AMR) to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment, with injuries ranging from life-threatening to minor, according to the police.
Regrettably, one of the individuals transported to the hospital has also succumbed to their injuries.
The two deceased victims have been identified as 22-year-old Dajsha Knight of New Haven and 19-year-old Madysin Hilker of West Haven.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Various individuals have expressed concerns about the dangerous nature of the road where the crash occurred.
