Anita Rose Obituary, Mother-of-six attacked while walking her dog dies in hospital
Anita Rose was discovered with a severe head injury close to Rectory Lane in Brantham around 8 am on Wednesday. She was walking her dog when she was attacked. After being taken to the hospital, she spent three days fighting for her life before passing away on Sunday morning.
A 45-year-old man who was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder was later re-arrested on suspicion of murder.
In a statement released by the police, Anita’s family paid tribute to her, expressing how they have been deprived of precious time with her.
They described her as a well-known and beloved member of the community who was taken from them too soon. Anita was not just a mother of six but also a grandmother to 13, a long-term partner, a mother-in-law, and a special friend to many.
The family urged anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing the importance of treasuring time with loved ones. It is noted that the suspect and Anita did not have a prior connection.
Anita left her home at around 5 am to walk her springer spaniel dog, Bruce. She was found by a passerby lying on a track road near the sewage works and railway line at 6.25 am, prompting an ambulance call. Following the discovery, Anita was transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
The police have shared an image of Anita captured by a doorbell camera on the morning of the incident as part of an appeal to find her mobile phone and a pink zip-up jacket.
Detective Superintendent Mike Brown stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, with initial inquiries already in progress and set to continue.
